Privacy Policy for QuizSeed

Rafael Chiquin ("I", "me", or "my") operates the QuizSeed application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information. The short version: QuizSeed has no backend server and no accounts. Your decks and progress stay on your device and sync only through your own iCloud.

1. Information Collection and Use

I do not collect, store, or sell any personally identifiable information or usage data. The App does not require you to create an account, provide a name, or log in to me. There is no QuizSeed server that receives your content.

2. Your Decks and Progress

The decks you create or import, your study progress, statistics, and preferences are stored on your device and, when you are signed in to iCloud, synced across your own Apple devices through Apple's iCloud (iCloud Drive and CloudKit). This data is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy terms and is not transmitted to me or accessible to me. If iCloud is unavailable, the App stores everything locally on your device.

3. AI Features

QuizSeed can generate quiz decks from your notes, a topic, or a photo. There are two paths, and you choose which to use:

• Apple Intelligence (free, on-device or Private Cloud Compute). On supported devices (iOS/macOS 26+ with Apple Intelligence), deck generation and the "Why was my answer wrong?" explanations use Apple Intelligence at no cost to you. Smaller requests run on-device with Apple's Foundation Models framework; larger requests may use Apple's Private Cloud Compute, which Apple designed so that your data is not stored and is not accessible to Apple. In neither case is your content sent to me; QuizSeed has no server.
• Bring your own AI key. If you add your own third-party API key (such as Claude or Gemini) in Settings, then when you use that feature the text you submit is sent directly from your device to that provider to generate a deck. That data is governed by your chosen provider's privacy policy and terms, not mine. You can remove your key at any time.

When you generate decks manually by copying a prompt into a separate AI app (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.), that interaction happens entirely in that other app under its own terms; QuizSeed only receives the text you paste back in.

4. Photo and Camera

If you import from a photo or the camera, text extraction (OCR) is performed on your device. Images are used only to extract text for deck creation and are not sent to me.

5. Third-Party Services and Tracking

The App does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. I do not monitor your behavior, track your usage across other apps, or sell information to ad networks.

6. Purchases

If the App offers a purchase, it is processed by Apple through the App Store. I do not receive or store your payment details. Apple handles billing under Apple's privacy terms.

7. Children's Privacy

Because the App does not collect personal data, it is suitable for users of all ages. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. I will post the new policy on this page and update the "Effective Date" above. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
